Georg Meistermann studierte an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf bei Werner Heuser, Heinrich Nauen und Ewald Mataré. 1933 wurde ihm von den Nationalsozialisten ein Mal- und Ausstellungsverbot auferlegt. Er musste die Akademie verlassen und durfte nur noch eine Leinwand von einem Quadratmeter pro Jahr verwenden - ohne Farben. Dennoch führte er seine Arbeit im inneren Exil fort, bildete sich autodidaktisch weiter und nutzte alternative Materialien wie Schuhcreme. Die Gestapo überwachte ihn und erklärte seine Werke zur "entarteten Kunst".
Ausgehend vom Spätkubismus und beeinflusst von Alfred Manessier, entwickelte er später einen zunehmend abstrakten Stil. Ab 1937 gestaltete er zahlreiche Glasfenster für Kirchen und öffentliche Gebäude. Viele seiner frühen Werke, darunter auch seine ersten Glasfenster von 1938 in St. Engelbert, Solingen, wurden im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört.
Das Werk wurde 1929 direkt vom Künstler erworben und befand sich seitdem im Familienbesitz. Laut Werkverzeichnis ist der "Verbleib unbekannt". Die Identität sowie Authentizität wurde inzwischen mündlich vom Nachlassverwalter bestätigt.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
