Exceptional complete set of the 13 original gouaches for the illustrations of the first issue of Modes et Manières d’Aujourd’hui published by Pierre Corrard in 1912.
The illustrations depict designs by Paul Poiret, with whom Georges Lepape collaborated in 1911 on Les Choses de Paul Poiret and on Lucien Vogel’s Gazette du Bon Ton.

At this time, Georges Lepape was emerging as a leading fashion illustrator at the end of the Belle Époque and into the interwar period. His fluid, elegant line and elongated silhouettes came to embody the very spirit of the Roaring Twenties. A regular contributor to the most prestigious fashion and style magazines, he exported his art across the Atlantic, working notably for Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, and especially Vogue, for which he created 114 covers.
