Internally a good copy with splendid contemporary colouring of the first edition. The aquatints depict views of Mentz, Furstenberg Castle, Pfalz Castle and the town of Kaub, salmon fishing in Lurley, Koblenz, Bornhofen, Cologne and other sites. The watermarks of the plates are dated 1816-17 and those of the text 1817 making this one of the first editions.
4to (335 x 270mm). 24 splendid hand-coloured plates from the time of D. Havell and T. Sutherland and a map showing the course of the river Rhine (without the 4 pp. list of subscribers, occasional light spotting and light offprint, a few leaves with small tears in the inner margin due to the detachment of the rear cover). Elegant green morocco richly decorated in blind and gilt, fine endpapers in green velvet with gilt decorations, gilt edges (rebacked preserving part of the original spine, light rubbing, heavier wear to joints and back cover detached).

Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
