Contemporary edition of the first report of the mission of the Jesuits in Concinina, now in central Vietnam. The author, a talented mathematician and astronomer, went as a missionary to the East to escape, as a devoted Copernican, the impositions of his superiors and lived there from 1615 to 1624 when he returned to Portugal to teach at the University of Coimbra.
