Mehrteilig gearbeitetes quadratisches Pektorale aus mit Golddraht verbundenen Goldblechen. Fein getriebener ornamentaler Dekor mit zentraler Darstellung eines Altarstiches mit zwei Lyren und einem Paar Menora-Leuchtern. Zwölf gefasste unterschiedliche Edelstein-Cabochons mit gravierten hebräischen Inschriften. An den Ecken vier Befestigungsösen. Maße 21,5 x 21 cm, Gewicht 141,5 g.
Aufwendig gearbeiteter Rekonstruktionsversuch des verlorenen heiligen Pektorales des Hohepriesters nach der Beschreibung im Buch Exodus.

The golden pectorale of the High Priest of the Israelites, French museum reconstruction, 2nd half of the 19th century
Made of several pieces, the square pectorale composed of sheets of gold connected with gold wire. Finely hammered, ornamental décor with a central depiction of an altar engraving with two lyres and a pair of menorah candelabra. Twelve cabochons set with different precious stones and engraved with Hebrew inscriptions. Four fastening rings in the corners. Dimensions 21.5 x 21 cm, weight 141.5 g.
Elaborate attempt to reconstruct the lost holy pectorale of the High Priest, according to the description in the Book of Exodus.
