Große Ikone mit außergewöhnlicher mehrszeniger Darstellung (Weltgericht?), Russland, um 1600 (großflächige Übermalungen)
Kowtscheg, Tempera auf Kreidegrund auf Holz. Randbereich und Hintergrund freigelegt. Es handelt sich wahrscheinlich um eine außergewöhnliche Darstellung des Weltgerichts. Hier werden allerdings keine apokalyptischen Szenen mit Dämonen, der Schlange oder der Hölle dargestellt. In der linken oberen Ecke erscheinen das heilige Jerusalem und eine abgewandelte Darstellung des Abendmahls. Ein grünes Wolkenband trennt die Szenen von dem restlichen Bildfeld. Im oberen Bildfeld erscheint der auferstandene Christus vor einer Schar von Engeln. Im unteren Bildfeld Darstellung des thronenden Christus vor einer Aureole mit Engeln. Großflächig übermalt. Maße 59,5 x 41 cm.

Kovcheg, tempera on gesso on wood. The border and background stripped. This is probably an extraordinary depiction of the Last Judgment. However, it does not include any apocalyptic scenes with demons, the serpent or hell. Holy Jerusalem and a modified rendering of the Lord's Supper appear in the upper left corner. A green band of clouds separates the scenes from the rest of the image. In the upper section, Christ resurrected appears before a host of angels. In the lower section, a depiction of Christ in Majesty in front of an aureole with angels. Large areas have been overpainted. Dimensions 59.5 x 41 cm.
