Kräftige Klinge mit rhombischem Querschnitt, im unteren Bereich teils stärker narbig. Lange Fehlschärfe mit ornamentalem Kerbdekor, beidseitig geschlagene Schmiedemarke. Am Ansatz zwei kleine Parierhaken. Typische, weit zur Klinge geneigte Parierstange mit eingerollten Enden. Beidseitig große Parierringe mit gezackten Innenplatten. Schlanke, balustergegliederte Hilze mit vernähtem Lederbezug. Gelochter Fischschwanzknauf mit eingerollten Enden. Parierstange und Knauf beidseitig mit fein gearbeitetem floralen Kerbdekor. Länge 183 cm.
A large German two-handed sword, Brunswick, circa 1600
Robust blade of diamond section, the lower section partially more pitted. Long ricasso with ornamental incisions, smith mark struck on both sides. The shoulder with two small side lugs. Typical quillons with coiled terminals bent distinctly towards the blade. Large side rings with jagged internal plates on both sides. Slender stepped grip with sewn leather cover. Pierced fishtail pommel with scrolled terminals. Quillons and pommel incised on both sides with fine floral ornaments. Length 183 cm.
