Hochwertig gearbeitetes großes Bronze-Bein mit Huf. Von einer runden Öffnung mit zwei seitlichen Voluten ausgehend setzt der nach vorne gebogene und breit gerippte Oberschenkel an. Das Knie ist nach hinten gestreckt, Sehnen und Muskeln sind gut ausgearbeitet. Unten ein mittig breit gekerbter Huf. Das Bein ist innen hohl und diente einst als hochwertiger Fuß eines kaiserzeitlichen Sitzmöbels. Gesockelt. Abgesehen von einem kleinen Chip am Oberschenkel intakt. Höhe 16,5 cm.
Provenienz: Französische Privatsammlung, erworben in einem französischen Auktionshaus.
Large bronze leg with hoof worked out in high quality. From a round opening with two volutes on the sides the thigh sets in, slightly bent forward and broadly ribbed. The knee is stretched backwards, tendons and muscles are well worked out. At the bottom a central, broadly notched hoof. The leg is hollow inside and served as foot of a Roman imperial seating furniture. Mounted. Except for one small chip on the thigh intact. Height 16.5 cm.
