Japan. Meiji Period. 1900.

Ivory, carved and engraved Patterns. The surface with a brownish yellow Patina, and polished to a Shine. Standing in long hip scarf and with jewelry, he holds one of the oni playfully on the neck. The right Arm he has his Lasso looped and ready his sword. To his feet one of the oni bands with his Shoulder, while the other presents a lighted candle on a Lotus leaf. On the back of the particularly expressive flame aureole.

Fudô Myôô is considered to be Stationary, and is called in esoteric Buddhism as an ally against the demons in the rites of Fire. At the same time he is also the Mantra king of love, which transforms the earthly passions of the people in the right feelings of a bosatsu. Weight 8.5 kg, height 62.5 cm.
