in which he solemn acts of state described, which is awarded to the political life of the Republic in the last three decades prior to its end in 1797 Shine. The cycle is based on the engraving series by Giambattista Brustolon, the these to templates of Antonio Canal. Canaletto executed, wherein the subject is a drawing Guardis (San Francisco, Fine Art Museum), in which he with the lilting sound of spring-the transformation of Brustolons image staff in his own style strokes, well-prepared. The twelve-part series Guardis was issued by 1811-1819 in the Louvre, of the ten paintings in the Louvre. The present painting represents a format smaller and slightly varied version of the painting "L'at a hearing agli Ambasciatori nella Sala del Collegio di Palazzo Ducale" (Inv. 325), and forms the theme of the eleventh screen of the cycle. It shows the Moment in which the Doge, in the presence of the Signoria granted to a foreign envoys an audience, the mostly dark clothes of the visitors strongly contrasting of the red Amtsroben of the Tribuna seated procurators and members of the government, stands out.
