Bel exemplaire en maroquin vert de l'époque, avec la plupart des planches coloriées à la main.
L’exemplaire compte 324 planches coloriées à la main sur les 361 que compte l’ouvrage. D’Hancarville, vingt ans plus tôt, a écrit « Antiquité Etrusques, Grecques et Romaines, tirées du cabinet de M. Hamilton, envoyé extraordinaire de Sa Majesté britannique en cour de Naples» (1766-67), travail à l’origine de la rédaction de la présente édition.
L'exemplaire est bien complet de la dédicace gravée au comte de Néale, qui manque parfois.

5 vol. in-4. (248 x 190 mm). Première édition française. Frontispice colorié à la main et répété dans chaque volume, et 361 gravures par F.A. David dont 324 coloriées à l’époque (rares rousseurs aux feuillets de texte). Reliure de l’époque : maroquin vert, triple filet doré sur les plats, dos à nerfs, caissons ornés, pièces de tomaison et de titre en maroquin rouge, gardes de papier Ingres rose, roulette intérieure, tranches dorées. Le décor de la reliure du cinquième tome, paru en 1788, diffère très légèrement (dos un peu passés, frottements, coins du t.V émoussés).

An attractive copy in contemporary green morocco, with 324 (out of the 361 contained) plates in contemporary hand-colouring. The binding of the fifth volume, which was issued later, is slightly different from the others but the overall aspect is still uniform.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
