Iron Cross 1st class, un-marked with flat pin, Iron Cross 2nd class with ribbon, ring marked "44", silver Infantry Assault Badge, un-marked, silver Wound Badge marked "127". War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords with ribbon and issue packet, Italian Medal of Military Valor in
silver, name engraved on reverse, with issue packet, Medal for Italian-German Campaign in Afrika with issue packet. Soldier identity disk with suspension chain for Hptmn Richstein and three candid photos of him at the front in Afrika. Issue packets have hand-written descriptions by Richstein with award dates, two separate slips of paper also indicate award dates for EKI "31.12.1941" and EKII "20.7.1941". Includes a large photo of destroyed German tank at Battle of Hakeim, size ca. 26 x 20.5 cm.
Hauptmann Richard Richstein participated in the Battle of Bir Hakeim (26 May – 11 June 1942) in which Rommel's Afrikakorps defeated the Free French forces and then captured Tobruk ten days later.
