HERCULES SANDERS 1606 Amsterdam - 1673 Ibid PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN WITH SILK COAT, WHITE AND BLACK LACE AND HAT Oil on canvas (old relined). 126 x 101 cm (F. 137 x 112 cm). Signed and dated upper left: 'h. Sanders fecit Ao. 1640'. Part. min. old restored, slightly old retouchings. Frame. Attached expert opinion by Dr. Walther Bernt, dated 30 April 1963. Bernt writes: 'The oil painting on canvas ... male portrait, kneeling, three-quarter profile, to the right, black silk doublet with rich black and white lace, against a dark grey background - is an impeccable, well-preserved and characteristic work by the Amsterdam portrait painter Hercules Sanders (1606-1673), which bears the full original inscription and the date 1640 at the upper left. The painting was in the important Wenke-Antwerp Collection, where it was sold in their auction on 1.6.1904 under no. 70 with a collotype illustration in the catalogue. Later it was sold in an auction from Mannheim at the Galerie Helbing in Munich, auction on 12.6.1909 under no. 54 with collotype. 12.6.1909 unter Nr. 54 mit Lichtdruckabbildung.' Männliches Bildnis, Kniestück, Dreivierzelprofil, nach rechts, schwarzer Seidenwams mit reichen schwarzen und weißen Spitzen, vor dunkel-grauem Hintergrund - ist ein einwandfreies, gut erhaltenes und charakteristisches Werk des Amsterdamer Bildnismalers Hercules Sanders (1606-1673), das links oben mit der vollen originalen Bezeichnung und der Datierung 1640 versehen ist. Das Bild befand sich in der bedeutenden Collection Wenke-Antwerpen, wo es in deren Auktion am 1.6.1904 unter Nr. 70 mit Lichtdruckabbildung im Katalog versteigert wurde. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
