1936. Öl/Lw. 70,5 x 100,5 cm. R. u. sign. Hugo Köcke, l. u. dat. Sylt 1936. - Deutscher Maler von Landschaften und Bildnissen. K. studierte nach einer Lithographenlehre ab 1902 an der Berliner Akademie. Er trat der Vereinigung Berliner Künstler bei und stellte ab 1893 regelmäßig auf der Großen Berliner Kunstausstellung aus. Nach seinem Umzug nach Westerland auf Sylt 1918 bestimmte die Landschaft der Insel fast ausschließlich seine Motive. Lit.: Thieme-Becker, Bénézit, Vollmer u.a.
