ISOLANI Isidoro (ca. 1480-1528) - De patria urbis laudibus panegyricus. Milan: Bidelli, 1629.

Probably of Milanese origins, Isidoro Isolani trained as a philosopher in the convent of S. Maria delle Grazie where he stayed as a Dominican. After a period in Fontanellato, near Parma, in 1516-18 he settled in Milan where the general chapter of the Lombard Congregation of Dominicans, meeting in Milan, entrusted him with the celebratory speech, De patriae urbis laudibus panegyricus, pronounced on 11 May in the presence of the city authorities and published in 1519.

8vo (155 x 100mm). Elegant engraved title with the coat of arms of the city of Milan, woodcut initials (title slightly trimmed at the lower edge and with a small repairs at the upper corner). Binding of the early twentieth century with spine in red leather titled in gold and covers in marbled paper (minimal wear).
