Jitish Kallat vit et travaille à Mumbai, en Inde. Exposé largement dans de nombreuses institutions internationales, dont le Palais des Beaux-Arts (Bruxelles, 2006), le ZKM (Karlsruhe, 2007), Kunstmuseum (Bern, 2007), la Tate Modern et la Serpentine Gallery (Londres, 2008), le Mori Art Museum (Tokyo, 2008), le Gemeente Museum (La Haye, 2009), le Martin Gropius Bau (Berlin, 2009), le Centre Pompidou (Paris, 2011) ou encore le MAXXI (Rome, 2012), il a participé à la Biennale de La Havane, à celle de Gwangju et de Kiev, à la Triennale Asia Pacific ainsi que celle de Guangzhou. Son travail se focalise principalement sur l’exploration de sa ville, ses évolutions socio-économiques, son dynamisme et sa résilience.
Jitish Kallat lives and works in Mumbai, India. Widely exhibited in many international institutions, including the Palais des Beaux-Arts (Brussels,2006), ZKM (Karlsruhe, 2007), Kunstmuseum (Bern, 2007), the Tate Modern and Serpentine Gallery (London, 2008), Mori Art Museum (Tokyo, 2008), Gemeente Museum (The Hague, 2009), the Martin Gropius Bau (Berlin, 2009), the Musée National d'Art Moderne - Centre Pompidou (Paris, 2011) or the MAXXI (Rome,2012), he participated in the Havana Biennalle, the Gwangju and Kiev Biennials, the Asia Pacific Triennial and the Guangzhou Biennial. His work focuses mainly on the exploration of his city, its socio-economic evolutions, its dynamism and resilience.
