Bilingual Latin and Italian edition of the famous prophecies of Joachim, Abbot of Fiore and theologian, illustrated with numerous allegorical woodcuts of Popes.

4to (221 x 165mm). Title within double line with printer's device with motto depicting Peace as a seated woman with a caduceus in her right hand and a cornucopia and an upturned torch in the left near a column with the inscription Pax, numerous woodcut illustrations and representations of the Popes, head and tail pieces, woodcut initials (slight browning and soiling mostly on title and upper margin). Contemporary calf, spine decorated in gilt, speckled edges (minimal wear at the upper joint); preserved in a decorated paper modern box. Provenance: Mostra del libro antico (label).
