Winterliche Bauernhochzeit in Ostpreußen (Ermland-Masuren)
Vielfigurige Szene vor einer alten, gotischen Backsteinkirche, aus welcher die Hochzeitsgesellschaft kommt, im Vordergrund wartende Pferdeschlitten. 1879 entstandenes Hauptwerk des polnisch stämmigen Malers, der hierin virtuos die Genreszene mit einer lebendigen Pferdedarstellung und einer atmosphärisch gestimmten Winterlandschaft verbindet. Nikutowski begann sein Malereistudium in Königsberg, setzte es an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf bei Carl Friedrich Lessing fort, folgte ihm 1859 nach Karlsruhe und ließ sich endgültig 1865 in Düsseldorf nieder. Dort wurde er zum bestens integrierten und anerkannten Mitglied der Düsseldorfer Malerschule, zumal er seit 1879 an der Akademie lehrte. Das Oeuvre Nikutowskis, der seit 1861 vielfach ausstellte, umfasst außer Genrebildern insbesondere Schlachtengemälde, beides oft in winterlich verschneiten Landschaften. Zu letzteren zählten insbesondere Szenen aus den Napoleonischen Kriegen bzw. Befreiungskriegen von 1812/13, Motive aus der polnischen Geschichte, darunter Episoden aus dem polnischen Januaraufstand 1863. Mit besonderer Leidenschaft schilderte er Reitergruppen und Pferde, die auch in diesem Gemälde wesentliche Elemente der Komposition sind. Öl/Lwd.; L. u. sign. u. dat. 1879. 51 cm x 80 cm. Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
