J. Friedrich Voltz (1817 - 1886), einer der bedeutendsten deutschen Tier- und Landschaftsmaler seiner Zeit, legte seinen Schwerpunkt auf Kuhdarstellungen und begründete damit als erster das Rassenportrait der Tiere. Er war königlicher Professor und ist heute u.a. in der Münchner Neuen Pinakothek sowie der Berliner Nationalgalerie vertreten.

Oil on cardboard. Atmospheric depiction of a cattle herd at the edge of a forest. From the left three cows are approaching the banks of a mountain lake whose water reflects the gentle dawn. In the centre a large cow is turning towards the forest glade where a shepherd boy is sitting underneath lavish tree tops. Signed and dated "H:Voltz/ 1876" in the right corner. The paint on the right edge is rubbed in three places. In a gilt wooden profiled frame. The cardboard is covered with a wooden plate on the reverse. Dimensions 16.5 x 40.5 cm, frame 20.5 x 54 cm.
J. Friedrich Voltz (1817 - 1886), one of the most significant German painters of animals and landscapes of his time, devoted himself primarily to the depiction of cattle, thereby creating the breed portrait of these animals for the first time. He was royal professor and today can be seen, among others, in the Neue Pinakothek in Munich and in the Berlin Nationalgalerie.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
