Weißer Marmor. Zeitgenössische klassizistische Figur (Ende 20. Jh./Anfang 21. Jh.) nach der berühmten Skulptur Danneckers, die sich heute im Liebieghaus in Frankfurt a. M. befindet. Dannecker, seit 1780 Hofbildhauer des Herzogs von Württemberg, begann 1803 mit der Arbeit an der "Ariadne auf dem Panther". Er stellt die Gattin des Weingottes Dionysos, die kretische Prinzessin Ariadne, auf der Raubkatze ruhend dar. Die künstlerische Idee Danneckers war es, die Bezähmung der Wildheit durch die Schönheit Ariadnes darzustellen. Bereits seit 1805 galt die, noch im Atelier des Bildhauers stehende Ariadne als Meisterwerk. 1810 wurde die Skulptur an den Frankfurter Bankier Simon Moritz von Bethmann verkauft und 1816 im sog. Odeon, dem ersten öffentlichen Museum in Frankfurt, aufgestellt. Seit 1856 stand sie im eigens gebauten "Ariadneum", wo sie von vielen Besuchern bestaunt wurde. H. 106 cm.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
