Lindenholz, geschnitzt u. gefasst, rücks. abgeflacht und ausgehöhlt; Fassung übergangen; Märtyrerpalme und Kreuz erg.; Große, fast vollplastische Darstellung des 1729 heiliggesprochenen, besonders in Böhmen und Österreich verehrten Brückenheiligen in priesterlichem Gewand mit Birett sowie Pelz-Mozetta und Kreuz-Schließe vor der Brust. In der lebendigen Bewegung der Figur, der subtilen Gestaltung des Blicks und den fein ausgearbeiteten Details von Bart, Chorhemd und Mozetta qualitätvolle Skulptur, welche in stiltypischer Weise die Bildhauerkunst des Spätbarocks und das Oeuvre Schwanthalers repräsentiert. Charakteristisch für diesen Bildschnitzer sind die scharf geschnittenen Falten der Gewandung, der leicht geöffnete Mund mit sichtbaren Zähnen, die besonders tief gearbeiteten Barthaare sowie die leicht schräg ausgeführten Augen. Johann Peter Schwanthaler der Ältere entstammte der bedeutenden Bildhauerdynastie, er war der dritte Sohn von Johann Franz Schwanthaler und ein Enkel von Thomas Schwanthaler. 1758/59 übernahm er die Schwanthaler-Werkstatt in Ried noch zu Lebzeiten seines Vaters und führte sie zu künstlerischem und wirtschaftlichem Erfolg. Außer Kirchenausstattungen führte er mit seiner Werkstatt zunehmend Einzelskulpturen aus, außerdem u. a. zahlreiche Kruzifixe und Kreuzigungsgruppen sowie Pietà-Darstellungen und Krippen. H. 154 cm.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
