Länge 32/37 cm
Abschliessbare Dokumentenmappe mit Fachunterteilung. Grünes, gold-geprägtes Leder. An der Innenseite Aufkleber bez. "Garnesson Palais Royal No. 225" und im Deckel geprägt: "Garnesson Maison Egalité". Mobile Schreibunterlage, aufklappbarer Deckel, darin Dokumentenfach. Tintenfass. Messingbeschläge. Grünes, gold-geprägtes Leder. Altes KlebeetiketTiefe: "A l'ancien Griffon, rue de Bussy, no 16. MOUCHINAT, PAPETIER". Restauriert. Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren.
Provenienz: Aus einer bedeutenden hessischen Sammlung. Nicolas-Jacques Garnesson war ein Pariser Täschner (gainier) und "marchand de nécessaires" erster Güte. Seine gewerbliche Tätigkeit ist in Ausgaben des "Almanach du commerce de Paris" auch vor 1800 genannt, etwa in der Ausgabe des Jahres VII (1798-1799), S. 164: "Garnesson, maison Egalité, n.°225". Sein prominenter Geschäftssitz innerhalb der Galerie des Palais Royal bezeugt seine wichtige Stellung als Hoflieferant und Händler für die höchsten gesellschaftlichen Kreise. Nach seinem Tod im Jahre 1824 führte sein Sohn Hippolyte die Geschäfte fort. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit könnte auf die Facheinteilung des Portefeuille gerichtet werden, die in den Monaten des "calendrier républicain" sortiert sind, der offiziell von 1792 bis 1805 verwendet wurde. Ein Portefeuille von Garnesson gehörte zu den Exponaten der Münchner Ausstellung "Taschen - eine europäische Kulturgeschichte vom 16. bis 21. Jahrhundert" von 2013; das Portefeuille als Schreibset ist stilistisch sehr ähnlich gearbeitet und stammt wohl aus eben diesem Umfeld; vgl. Sotheby's (Château du Réveillon), 11.2.2015, Lot 65.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
