Lot 2216 Small Vase with white herons
Japan. Meiji Period. In the style of Namikawa Sôsuke.

seamless Email (muses shippô), and Cloisonné (yusen shippô) on copper. Floor and mouth with blackened silver eingfasst. The twelve herons are in white on the graded (bokashi) in the Background in grey
. The colors are set without webs side by side, as well as the shadowy
of reed grasses between the birds. The control of the gradients, and the
the final glaze firing high-polished surface to show the mastery of the craftsmen.
Only the beaks and eyes of birds are defined with thin silver bars.
These were also used for the stylized Kanzenami-waves on the feet. H. 16,5 cm. In the ground, engraved brand: Suzuki Seiichiro, active around 1860. Condition B. a hair crack in the enamel.
