Lot 82 | KONVOLUT ITALIENISCHER DUDELSACK „ZAMPOGNA A CHIAVE“ UND EINZELNE DUDELSACKPFEIFE
Abmessungen: 1. Melodiepfeife ohne Klappe: Länge: 63,5cm; 2. Melodiepfeife mit Klappe: Länge: 109cm.
CONVOLUTE ITALIAN BAGPIPE SET "ZAMPOGNA A CHIAVE" PLUS SINGLE BAGPIPE
A set consisting of a historical Italian bagpipe set "zampogna a chiave" with 4 pipes (middle Italy, 19th century) and another single bagpipe.
The single bagpipe could also be the tube of a ciaramella (Italian shawm). This instrument is made of turned fruitwood, has four finger holes and shows clear signs of age and use.
Dimensions: Length: 28.2cm, diameter bell: 5.2cm.
The zampogna a chiave ("zampogna with key") with signs of age and use consists of a greenish goatskin bellows attached to a wooden holder for the four bagpipes. The instrument has two melody pipes (a melody pipe without key and 9 holes in the playing tube and second melody pipe with 3 holes aligned to the key). The bagpipe also has two shorter drone pipes. In Italian cities the zampogna is used at Christmas time together with the treble shawm to play the so-called piffari in memory of the shepherds of Bethlehem.
Dimensions: 1st melody pipe without key: Length: 63.5cm; 2nd melody pipe with key: Length: 109cm.
