Manuscrit de format in-8 (225 x 175 mm), en français, sur papier vergé. Encre brune, double encadrement à l'encre noire sur toutes les pages. Composition du manuscrit : 3 ff./6 pp. de table, 1 f. blanc, 57 ff./114 pp. de texte, 1 f. blanc, et 30 plans aquarellés, dépliants (de format 225 x 310 mm). Reliure de l'époque : maroquin rouge, roulette dorée en encadrement des plats, dos lisse orné, pièce de titre (PLAN/DES/FORTI), roulette dorée sur les coupe, gardes de papier marbré (mors supérieur très usé, avec manques, manques aux coiffes et coins, frottements).
Provenance : ex-libris héraldique du XIXe siècle sur le contreplat : “d’or à la croix d’azur chargée de cinq étoiles d’argent”, à la couronne comtale.Il s'agit probablement des armes de la famille Cristiani de Ravaran.

Si, compte tenu du sujet, le nom de Vauban apparaît évidemment à plusieurs reprises, pour décrire ses principes et différents systèmes (voir par exemple p. 84), il semble que le manuscrit soit une compilation et synthèse des écrits et traités du mathématicien Guillaume Le Blond. Certains passages du textes sont ainsi tirés de ses Éléments de fortification (dont l'édition originale date de 1739) et de ses contributions à l'Encyclopédie, dont l'article qu'il consacre à la fortification, "ou l'art de fortifier". Les beaux plans et vues aquarellés, en fin de manuscrit, sont eux aussi dérivés de ces sources premières.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
