Les Deux fleurs. Manuscrit enluminé, sur papier. 1920.
Exquis et curieux manuscrit enluminé, évocateur du style troubadour. Nos recherches ne nous ont pas permis de préciser qui était le « A.L. Pageaut » qui a enluminé le manuscrit. Les bordures, lettrines, miniatures et ornements divers, qui reprennent les codes et styles des manuscrits médiévaux et Renaissance, sont parfois peuplés de personnages, dont le poète normand du XIIe siècle Robert Wace, ou le roi Arthur. Sur une des pages, on peut lire la devise du personnage principal « Quant fault Haulctcoeur meurt l’honneur ». Sur certaines pages, les croquis et réglures au crayon sont encore visibles, documentant ainsi le travail minutieux de l’enlumineur.
Le texte, qui est effectivement de Jules Lemaître, est extrait de ses Contes d’autrefois et d’aujourd’hui, parus en 1886. Le texte du manuscrit correspond au premier chapitre et à environ la moitié du second.
In-4 (274 x 212 mm). 17 pp. enluminées, sur papier, avec une page de titre ornée. Le manuscrit comprend notamment 2 miniatures à mi-page, 2 grands bandeaux sur une double page, 3 miniatures dans le texte. Toutes les pages sont encadrées de riches bordures ornées ou historiées.
Une autre gouache originale, monogrammée par le même enlumineur, est montée sous passepartout en regard de la page de titre.
Bradel de vélin rigide signé de Levitzky, titre et nom d’auteur peints sur le premier plat, titre peint sur le dos (dos légèrement passé). Étui.
A finely illuminated manuscript, made in 1920 and evoking medieval manuscripts, in style and tone. Notably comprises 2 half-page miniatures, 2 large historiated top borders and 3 miniatures in the text.

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
