Seltenes, originelles Blatt mit zentraler Mariendarstellung auf der Mondsichel mit Schlange, gekleidet in blauem, wallendem Mantel und mit in Gebetshaltung gefalteten Händen. Ihr Haupt wird von einem feinen Strahlenkranz und Puttenköpfen umrahmt, während ihre Gestalt inmitten von marianischen Symbolen wie u.a. der Sonne, dem Brunnen, dem Spiegel und dem Turm, wie sie auch in der Lauretanischen Litanei vorkommen, inszeniert wird. In der reich dekorierten, breiten Randbordüre finden sich detailreich geschilderte Darstellungen von Gottvater mit dem Heiligen Geist in der Gestalt der Taube, dem Hl. Joseph mit dem Christuskind, dem Hl. Bernhard von Clairvaux mit den Passionswerkzeugen (Kreuz, Nagel und Geißel) in weißem Mönchshabit, einem Heiligen mit Kirchenmodell, Patriarchenstab und roter Monzetta, dem Hl. Hieronymus in der Wüste, dem Hl. Thomas von Aquin mit Feder und Kirchenmodell, dem Hl. Ildefons von Toledo mit grüner Kasel sowie dem Evangelisten Johannes mit Adler und aufgeschlagenem Evangelienbuch. Der erfindungsreiche Stil und das symbolreiche Motiv weisen evidente Parallelen zu den raren und äußerst schöpferischen Arbeiten des bedeutenden Buchmalers Luis Lagarto auf, dessen Werk von seinen Söhnen weitergeführt wurde. Vermutlich um 1556 in Sevilla geboren, erhielt Luis Lagarto seine Ausbildung wohl u.a. bei Lázaro de Velasco in Granada und wanderte um 1585 nach Mexiko aus, wo er bis zu seinem Tod um 1624 tätig war und zahlreiche Arbeiten im Auftrag der Kirche u.a. in Pueblo fertigte. Einige seiner wenigen erhaltenen Manuskripte werden in der Pinacoteca Virreinal de San Diego in Mexiko-Stadt, dem Museo José Luis Bello y González in Pueblo und im Museo de América in Madrid aufbewahrt.
