F. A. Klein ist zwischen ca. 1825-1883 als Klavierbauer, Musikalienhändler und Instrumentenverleiher in Berlin tätig. Es wird vermutet, dass seine Lyraflügel von J.C. Schleip gebaut und von Klein unter dessen Namen verkauft wurden. Das Instrument ist in Mahagoni furniert und mit eleganten hellen Intarsien versehen.
Die Klaviatur (DD-g4) hat ein Stichmaß von 48,0cm. Das mit belederten Hämmerchen ausgestattete Instrument besitzt einen einteiligen Steg.

LYRE PIANO SIGNED F.A. KLEIN, BERLIN CIRCA 1830-1835
F. A. Klein was active as a piano maker, music dealer and instrument lender in Berlin between ca. 1825-1883. It is assumed that his lyre pianos were built by J.C. Schleip and sold by Klein under his name. The instrument is veneered in mahogany and has elegant light inlays.
The keyboard (DD-g4) has a 3-octave-span of 48.0cm. The hammers are covered with leather. The instrument has a single bridge.
