Édition originale du premier recueil de vers d'Olivier de Magny. Issu d'une riche famille bourgeoise de Cahors, Magny entre au service d'Hugues Salel, abbé de Saint-Chéron et poète en vue sous François Ier, puis de Jean de Saint-Marcel, maître des requêtes ordinaires du roi et proche de Diane de Poitiers. Parrainé par Ronsard, Jodelle, Baïf, Muret, Dorat ou encore Belleau, qui apportent chacun une pièce en début d'ouvrage, le jeune poète livre un ensemble de 102 sonnets et 18 odes, certaines dédiées à des personnages importants. Il dédie le recueil à la "Castianire", mystérieuse muse dont l'identité reste incertaine. Son portrait gravé, attribué à Nicolas Denisot, figure au recto du deuxième feuillet. Désireux de s'attirer les faveurs du roi après la mort de son premier protecteur, Magny publiera la même année un Hymne sur la naissance de Madame Marguerite de France. In-8 (143 x 95 mm). Édition originale. Portrait gravé de "la Castianire", bandeaux et lettrines gravés. Reliure du XIXe siècle : maroquin rouge, filet à froid formant un rectangle au centre des plats, fers dorés aux angles, double filet à froid en encadrement, dos à nerfs titré or orné de compartiments à froid renfermant des petits fers dorés, tranches dorées sur marbrure. Roulettes et filets intérieurs dorés. Page de titre plus courte de 2 mm. Feuillets c8, d1, h1, h2, h7 et h8 plus courts en marge supérieure. Feuillet g1 plus court en marge extérieure.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
