Asklepios im Kontrapost auf einer ovalen Grundplatte. Der muskulöse Körper von einem Chiton bekleidet, der um die Hüften geschwungen und über die linke Schulter gelegt ist. Der Faltenwurf gekonnt ausgearbeitet. Die anatomischen Details des Körpers lebensnah und detailreich ausgearbeitet, ebenso das Schuhwerk. Der rechte, abgewinkelte Arm in der Mitte des Unterarms abgebrochen. Die Hand hielt einst den Stab mit der Schlange, von dem noch Ansätze auf der Grundplatte zu erkennen sind. Der linke Arm mit nur minimaler Beugung nach unten geführt und durch einen Steg mit dem Körper verbunden, die Hand abgebrochen. Der Kopf mit fein ausgearbeitetem Gesicht, Bart und Frisur. Vereinzelt Bohrlöcher erkennbar. Das ausgesprochen hochwertige "Finish" der gut polierten Figur ist am Kopf nicht wiederholt. Die im Vergleich zur sonstigen Figur leicht raue Oberfläche legt eine Überarbeitung in der Antike nahe, wofür auch der kurze, gedrungene Hals spricht. Eine moderne Überarbeitung ist aufgrund der einheitlichen Sinterauflagen ausgeschlossen. Auf modernen Sockel montiert. Höhe ohne Sockel 31 cm, mit Sockel 32,5 cm.
Ausgesprochen schöne Marmorstatuette von hoher ästhetischer Qualität.

Asclepius in contrapposto on an oval base plate. The muscular body clothed in a chiton, which is wound around the hips and draped over the left shoulder. The lines of the folds skilfully wrought. The anatomical details of the body are extremely lifelike, intricately carved, together with the footwear. His right arm bent at an angle, broken away at the centre of the forearm. This hand originally held the staff entwined with the serpent, remnants of which can still be seen on the base plate. His left arm, almost fully flexed, is held downwards where it is connected to his body via a crosspiece. The hand is lost. His head meticulously carved with facial features, beard and hair. A few drill holes visible in places. The exceptionally admirable finish of the highly polished figure not applied to the head. The slightly rough surface compared to the rest of the statue suggests it was reworked in antiquity, also accounting for the short, thickset neck. A modern replacement can be ruled out owing to the homogeneous sinter deposits. Mounted on a modern pedestal. Height without pedestal 31 cm, with pedestal 32.5 cm.
