A fine crisp and clean copy with wide margins and without browning or foxing of Mayer's works published between 1803 and 1805 and dedicated to Egypt, Palestine and the Ottoman Empire. Complete with 96 beautifully hand-colored plates in perfect condition with illustrations of the main local monuments and costumes of the people from different regions and classes.

3 works in one volume, folio (470 x 330mm). Half-title with full title of the work "Views in Egypt, Palestine and other parts of the Ottoman Empire" dated 1804; first work with 48 finally handcoloured plates; second work with 24 and third work with 24; the third work also contains the title in French; internally an excellent copy (some copies also contain a portrait of the author not present here). Contemporary calf decorated in gilt (rebacked and restored, extremities rubbed, corners bumped).
