PAIR OF PORCELAIN GIRANDOLES WITH SEATED CUPIDS AS ALLEGORIES OF THE SEASONS.

Meissen.
Date: 19th c.
Technique: Porcelain, enriched in colours, golden.
Description: On four small, curved feet, a domed base with rocaille curves and floral painting. Each is surmounted by a towering rocaille as a chandelier shaft, with flowers and grapes applied to the back. Each is topped by a four-flame candlestick made of a moving rocaille relief with applied flower garlands.
The girandoles each have two seated cupids, which are divided into the pairs of spring and summer as well as autumn and winter.
Measurement: Height 34,5cm with lamp attachment 50cm.
Mark: Swords mark, painted blue under glaze. Model number E129/E128, painter's number 4.
