The designs by Peter Strang show a realisation of Shakespeare's fabulous tale of 'A
Midsummer Night's Dream': the quarrelsome Titania has seduced the page of the King of
Fairies. In revenge, Puck, Oberon's court jester, is supposed to spray a magic potion that
will make Titania fall in love with the next best creature. When the donkey-headed weaver
Nick Bottom crosses her path, she falls madly in love with him. The two characters
portrayed are just some of the protagonists in this mythological confusion, a moonstruck
summer night on 21st June.
