Porträt einer jungen adeligen Dame mit Perlenschmuck in rotem Kleid
Ovales, um 1840-1850 entstandenes Bildnis in Dreiviertelvigur, nach links gewandt, den Betrachter anblickend. Ihre Augen sind blau, ihr Kleid changiert rot und grau und ist an Brusteinsatz und Ärmeln mit mehreren großen, tropfenförmigen Perlen bestickt. Der Faltenwurf scheint lebhaft und plastisch. Über die Arme der Dargestellten drapiert liegt ein schwarzer, durchsichtiger Schleier, im glatten, dunklen Haar trägt sie ein blau ornamentiertes, goldenes Haarnetz sowie weiße Blüten, die der weißen Blume gleichen, die sie in der rechten Hand hält. Ihr Schmuck ist fein und prachtvoll; an den Handgelenke trägt sie mehrreihige goldene Reifen, um den Hals eine schwere Perlenkette und ihr tropfenförmiger Perlohrring spiegelt die Perlen ihres Kleides wieder. Sie steht vor einer Brüstung, auf der ihre rechte Hand locker aufliegt. Zu ihrer linken steht eine efeubewachsene Vase aus dunklem Stein. Der Hintergrund zeigt eine Landschaft unter dunklem Himmel, in der sich ein Flusslauf gen Horizont windet. Kompoisition, Stil und Feinheit der Malerei zeigen evidente Parallelen zu Werken Franz Xaver Winterhalters, einem der bedeutendsten und gefragtesten Porträtisten des europäischen Hochadels im 19. Jh.; Rest. Tempera/ Elfenbein. 4,5 cm x 3,6 cm. Ovaler Goldrahmen, umlaufend besetzt mit Opalcabochons und bekrönt von emailliertem Fürstenhut mit Hermelinbesatz. Gest. 18 ct, unbekanntes Herstellerzeichen "W". Ges.-Gew. 38,18 g. Ges. H. 7,5 cm.
