Exemplaire en reliure de l’époque. La publication d'Ignace de Mouradja d’Ohsson est considérée comme la meilleure description de l’Empire Ottoman de son époque. Il y éclaire notamment son système légal et juridique qui étaient occultes pour ses contemporains. Au service du roi de Suède, l’auteur vint en France en 1787 pour y publier les t.I et t.II. Secoué par les évènements de la Révolution, d’Ohson rentra à Constantinople, sa ville natale, pour poursuivre la rédaction de son œuvre. Constantin, son fils, poursuivit le travail de son père, mort en 1807 et publia un troisième volume treize années plus tard.

3 vol. in-folio (505 x 335 mm). Édition originale, illustrée d’un frontispice par J-B. Simonet d’après Moreau, dédicace avec une vignette aux armes fu roi de Suède et de 235 gravures hors texte en pointe sèche d’après J.B Hillaire exécutées par Cochin, Moreau, Le Barbier et d’autres, planches du t.I gravées avant la lettre (une gravure manquante au t.III [n°170], les cahiers Ee du t.I et Dddd du t.II. sont manquants, une mention manuscrite en fin du t.II datant du premier quart du XIXème siècle indique déjà l’absence de ces derniers, certaines planches reliées dans le désordre, rousseurs dans l’ensemble des trois volumes, planches comprises). Reliure de l’époque : demi-maroquin rouge à long grain à coins, dos à doubles nerfs et caissons ornés, gardes de papier marbré, tranches jaspées (frottements, griffures, dos du t. III passé). Le tome III ayant paru trente ans après les deux premiers, le décor de la reliure, quasiment identique, a été exécuté avec des fers différents.

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
