Hut eines Angehörigen der Schutztruppe in DSW aus grauem Wollfilz, blaues Hutband und Krempeneinfassung, Metallkokarde mit Druckknopf, innen das Herstelleretikett "Globus", Größenetikett "56" auf dem braunen Lederschweißband. Kaum getragen, jedoch starke oberflächliche Mottenschäden. Dazu ein weißer Tropenhelm in englischer Form, Hersteller "Christys' London", auf dem Bundstreifen die deutsche Mützenkokarde für Offiziere, Innenseite der Glocke bezeichnet "Plieninger Duala 1908". Außerdem ein Foto (neuer Abzug). Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren.
Die Objekte gehören zum Nachlass von Oberleutnant Plieninger. Er war vom 2. Elsässischen Pionier-Bataillon Nr. 19 (dem er 1904 noch angehörte) zur Schutztruppe in Kamerun übergetreten. Seine schriftlichen Hinterlassenschaften wurden in Auktion 60 unter Los 2966 versteigert.

Hat of a member of the Schutztruppe in German South-West Africa of grey wool felt, blue hatband and edge trim, metal cockade with press button, maker's label "Globus" on the inside, size "56" on brown leather sweatband. Hardly worn, but heavy moth damage on the surface. With a white sun helmet of English form, made by "Christys' London", on the helmet band the German cap cockade for officers, the inside of the helmet inscribed "Plieninger Duala 1908". Also included a photo (new copy). Signs of use and age.
The items come from the estate of Oberleutnant Plieninger. He had switched from the 2nd Alsatian Pioneer Battalion No. 19 (to which he still belonged in 1904) to the colonial forces in Cameroon. His written documents were offered for sale in auction 60 under lot 2966.
