Lot 2261 Netsuke: Standing Horse
Japan. Edo Period. To 1800. Standing, delicate horse that attracted right front leg slightly, head bowed with
an open mouth, presumably irritated by a Fly that created ears. The moving,
almost horizontally curved tail seems to also sell to fly. Ivory,
expression carved strong and moving, the coat and tail are accented with finely engraved and dark
, the attention views eyes inlaid of black Horn. Natural
Himotoshi. The center of the tooth is visible at an edge. H. 5,5 cm. Condition A.
