Kleine Ordenskollane, bestehend aus 13 Lilien- und 13 Löwen-Medaillongliedern, Kleinod und Kette aus vergoldetem Silber, die Kettenglieder einseitig, das anhängende Kleinod teilweise beidseitig emailliert (die Feuerstrahlen nur avers), die Vorderseite des Medaillons mit plastischer Darstellung der apostelgleichen Heiligen, deren Gewänder farbig emailliert, das Endglied mit Zungenverschluss zur leichteren Öffnung und Verschluss durch den Träger. Die Kollane nebst Kleinod in seltener Luxusausführung in europäischer - wohl spanischer - Fertigung nach 1945, ohne Punzen. Anzunehmen ist wohl eine "Haus-Verleihung" durch den im spanischen Exil lebenden König Simeon II. von Bulgarien.
Dazu Michael Autengruber: "Der Orden ging 1946 mit der Abschaffung der Monarchie zunächst unter, König Simeon verlieh ihn jedoch auch im Exil weiter.".
Provenienz: Diese Kleine Kollane wurde am 31. Oktober 2008 bei der Fa. Thies in der 36. Auktion unter der Losnummer 401 exakt mit dieser zeitlichen Zuschreibung angeboten.
Order of Saints Cyril and Methodius, a lesser collar
Lesser collar, consisting of 13 fleur-de-lys and 13 lion medallion links, the badge and chain of gilt silver, the chain links enamelled on one side, the attached badge partly enamelled on both sides (the fire rays only on the obverse), the obverse of the medallion with three-dimensional depiction of the equal-to-apostles saints, their garments enamelled in colour, the terminal link with snap lock clasp for easier opening and closing by the wearer. The collar and badge in rare deluxe version manufactured in Europe, presumably Spain, after 1945, unmarked. This order was probably awarded by King Simeon II of Bulgaria during his Spanish exile –not as a sovereign, but on behalf of the Bulgarian royal house.
Michael Autengruber comments as follows: "After the abolition of the monarchy in 1946, the order first vanished, but King Simeon continued to award it from his exile.".
Provenance: This lesser collar was offered by the company Thies at their 36th auction on 31 October 2008 under lot No. 401 and was ascribed to exactly the same period.
