Watercolour and opaque paints on ivory. Image size: 6.6 x 5.6 cm (in the high oval) cm. Brass frame (7.8 x 6.6 cm), inserted in the red velvet passe-partout of a leather-covered frame with stand. Signs of wear and tear.
Ferdinand war der älteste Sohn von Prinz Ferdinand von Sachsen-Coburg-Koháry (1785-1851) und Maria Antonie Gabriele Koháry de Csábrág et Szitnya (1797-1862). 1836 vermählte er sich mit der verwitweten Königin Maria II. von Portugal (1819 Rio de Janeiro - 1853 Lissabon). Der Ehe entstammten elf Kinder.
