1891 Untermhaus - 1969 Singen Katze und Hahn II. 1966 Rechts unten signiert und datiert "66" und mittig bezeichnet "Hahn und Katze". Farblithografie auf maschinellem Bütten. Ex. 23/80. 40 x 60 cm. Blattgröße: 58 x 75 cm. Im Passepartoutausschnitt min. gebräunt. Rahmen (75 x 90 cm). In der hier vorliegenden Lithografie von 1966 beherrscht die gestreifte Katze die Situation und ihr Schwanz überragt in der oberen Ecke sogar den Bildrahmen. Zusammen mit den leuchtenden Farben der Tiere, der kräftigen Linienführung und den spitzen Federn und Krallen verbildlicht der Künstler der Anspannung zwischen Raub- und Fluchttier. Otto Dix wurde bekannt durch Porträtmalerei und die Aufarbeitung des ersten Weltkrieges in seinen Bildern. Nachdem er von den Nationalsozialisten von seiner Professur in Dresden entlassen und seine Kunst später als "entartet" diffamiert wurden, zog er 1936 nach Hemmenhofen an den Bodensee, wo er vermehrt Landschaften und Tiere malte. Hier beschäftigte er sich in seinem Spätwerk einige Male mit Hähnen und Katzen als Protagonisten, wobei er auch das Thema der Konfrontation der beiden Tiere 1955 in ähnlicher Komposition in einem größeren Ausschnitt und anderer Farbgebung schon einmal bearbeitet. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
