Um 1745-50. Möglicherweise nach einem Entwurf von Juste Aurèle Meissonier.

Bronze teilweise patiniert und vergoldet. Hohe, vierfüßige Felssockel, kraftvoll gearbeitet mit Voluten, Blättern und Blüten. Darauf
jeweils ein kniender Chinese mit erhobenen Armen die Leuchter haltend. Diese in Form von
Lotusblüten, sowie die Tüllen mit Blättern und Muscheln verziert. Höhe 40cm.
Beide Sockel gestempelt mit C unter Krone (C couronnée - Steuerstempel 1745-1749).

Äußerst kraftvolle und ausdrucksstarke Arbeit eines Pariser Bronzegießers, von außergewöhnlicher Qualität. Die beiden Girandolen stellen den Höhepunkt des sogenannten "goût pittoresque" dar. Die Natur wird hier als bizarr übertriebenes Dekorationselement in die Inneneinrichtung integriert. Dazu kommt noch die Darstellung des Fremden, des Exotischen in Form der knienden Chinesen, die nun einer vermeintlich kultivierten Welt zu Diensten stehen

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
