Die balusterförmigen Vasen zeigen auf der Vorder- und Rückseite der Wandung jeweils eine querovale, mehrpassige Kartusche mit goldfarbenem Grund und goldener Umrandung. Diese sind farbig bemalt mit sogenannten Watteauszenen und zeigen galante Paare (Liebespaare) wie die Liebesbrief lesende in einem Parkprospekt mit grünen Bäumen und antikisierenden Architekturelemente wie einer Säule mit Vase, einem Obelisken oder einer Büste im Rundbogen. Die Darstellungen folgen grafischen Vorlagen des französischen Rokoko Malers Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721). Die nach ihm benannte Watteaumalerei wurde zum Fachbegriff für Malereien auf Porzellan nach seinen bildlichen Vorlagen wie Gemälden und Druckgrafiken oder nach seinem Stil. Bereits seit 1738 wurden in Meissen nachweislich Vorlagen von Watteau verwendet, sowohl von Kaendler wie von den Malerstuben. Vermutlich besaß die Manufaktur ein Exemplar des "Recueil Jullienne" (L'Oeuvre d'Antoine Watteau / Recueil Jullienne, nach A. Watteau, 271 Blatt). Watteaus Darstellung heiterer Feste in idealisierten Gartenlandschaften - die "Fêtes galantes" - wurde zum stilbildenden Vorbild für zahlreiche Meissner Porzellanmaler des 18. Jahrhunderts. Die hier gezeigten höfischen Figuren, die weich fließende Modellierung sowie die differenzierte Landschaftsstaffage sind typisch für die Zeit um 1770. Die übrige Fläche der Wandungen ist reich dekoriert mit farbig gemalten, zarten Streublumen und plastisch aufgelegten Blüten mit grünen Stilen. Die Vasen sind eingefasst von einer elegant geschwungenen, vergoldeten und ziselierten Rokoko-Bronzemontierung, geformt aus Voluten- und C-Schwüngen.
