Lot 3210 | Pallasch für Offiziere der schweren Kavallerie, 1740 - 1780
Kräftige, breite Rückenklinge (etwas fleckig) mit zweischneidiger Mittelspitze, beidseitig mit je zwei Hohlkehlen und zwei Zügen in Rückennähe, beidseitig Zierätzungen, darin Reiter, bekrönter Doppeladler und Schriftzug "Vivat Franciscus I Romischer Kayser" (für Franz I., Ehemann Maria Theresias). Messing-Bügelgefäß mit Knöchelschild (reliefierte bekrönte Chiffre "MT" für Maria Theresia) und Daumenring, schwarz belederte Hilze (kleine Fehlstellen), Griffkappe mit Löwenkopfknauf. Über Holzkern schwarz belederte Scheide mit Messingbeschlägen und zwei beweglichen eisernen Trageringen. Trage- und Altersspuren. Restauriert, besonders die Scheide (Leder neu). Länge 104,5 cm. Sehr selten.
A pallash for officers of the heavy cavalry, 1740 - 1780
Sturdy, broad single-edged blade (somewhat pitted) with double-edged central point, each side with double fullers and two grooves near the back, decorative etching on both sides depicting horsemen, crowned double-headed eagles and inscription (tr.) "Vivat Franciscus I Roman Emperor" (for Franz I, husband of Maria Theresia). Brass knuckle-bow hilt with knuckle guard (crowned cypher "MT" in relief for Maria Theresia) and thumb ring, grip covered with black leather (minor flaws), grip cap with lion head pommel. Wooden scabbard with black leather cover, brass fittings and two movable iron suspension rings. Traces of wear and age. Restored, particularly the scabbard (new leather cover). Length 104.5 cm. Very rare.
