Technique: Bronze, fire gilded, brass, tortoise shell, coloured horn, mother of pearl, tin, etc..
Description: The slender console on the sides with elaborate mounts with female faces in cartouches.
Richly curved case shape, glazed on three sides, richly decorated with acanthus leaves,
flowers and cartouches. An eagle at the bottom and a seated fama as a crown. Floral
tendrils of tortoiseshell inlaid in brass on all sides, the flowers worked in engraved
mother-of-pearl, coloured lacquer or engraved pewter. The dial with Roman hour cartouches
and Arabic minute cartouches. Large rectangular pendulum movement with verge escapement,
thread suspension and half-hour strike on an overhead bell.
Measurement: Pendulum 67,5x33,5x15,5cm, plinth height 28,5cm.
Mark: Inscr. back plate 'Frizon a Paris' (from 1712, Tardy p.240).
Enclosed: Pendulum & key.
