Recueil composite en reliure de l’époque, comprenant 7 planches (sur 9) et tous les feuillets de texte de la Descrizione, une planche supplémentaire de Piranèse, et une planche de Francesco Curti. L’ouvrage décrit et représente le système hydraulique installé par les Romains de l’Antiquité au lac d’Albano, au sud de Rome. Cette étude sera la première d’une série consacrée à la région, sous le patronage du pape Clément XIII, dont la propriété de Castel Gandolfo se trouvait sur les berges du lac.
Wilton-Ely 613-624 ; Focillon 480-491 ; Hind, p. 85. Le filigrane visible est proche du groupe Robison 36-38, datant le papier entre les années 1760 et 1780.
In-folio (525 x 393 mm). Page de titre gravée, 10 feuillets de texte (signés A-E2) comprenant une lettrine et un grand cul-de-lampe gravés, 7 planches gravées à double page (sur 9 ; sont manquantes : Wilton-Ely 620 et 621).

- PIRANÈSE, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, dit. Sepolcro Regio, o Consolare, inciso bella rupe del Monte Albano. Eau-forte (550 x 730 mm). Cette planche provient des Antichita d'Albano e di Castel Gandolfo Descritte ed incise da Giovambatista Piranesi . Wilton-Ely 644. Réparation au verso.
Reliure de l’époque : veau de l’époque, gardes de papier marbré, tranches rouges (le cuir se décolle légèrement à un endroit du premier plat, quelques accrocs, coiffe de queue manquante).
A attractive composite volume in contemporary calf, comprising 7 (out of 9) plates and all the text pages of from the Descrizione, as well as an additional plate by Piranesi and a larger, folding one by Francesco Curti.
