Gouache auf Karton. Darstellung der jungen Dichterin im Kostüm der Jeanne d'Arc mit Harnischbrust und -armen über einem kurzen Rock. Auf dem Kopf ein blaues Barett mit reichem Federschmuck. In der rechten Hand einen Degen haltend, die linke auf die Hüfte gestützt. Auf der Oberseite bezeichnet "Loise Labe". Hinter Glas, in altem Flammleistenrahmen des 17. Jhdts. Blattmaße 22,5 x 15,5 cm, der Rahmen 45 x 37 cm.
Nach handschriftlichen Notizen auf der Rückseite des Kartons ist das Portrait dem französischen Höfling, Dichter und Portraitmaler Nicolas Denisot (1515-59) zuzuschreiben.
Louise Labé, französische Schriftstellerin, galt zu Lebzeiten als sehr emanzipierte Frau, die in ihrer Jugend neben vielseitiger Bildung auch Reit- und Fechtunterricht genossen hatte. Aufgrund ihrer 1555 veröffentlichten Werke "Oeveres de Louise Labé, Lyonaise" gelangte sie zu großer Bekanntheit und gilt heute als wichtigste Vertreterin der Lyoneser Dichterschule.

Gouache on cardboard. Portrayal of a young female poet dressed as Jeanne d’Arc with cuirass and pauldrons over a short skirt. Wearing a richly plumed, blue beret on her head. Holding a small sword in her right hand, the left hand resting on her hip. The top inscribed "Loise Labe". Under glass, in an old ripple moulding frame from the 17th century. Dimensions of picture 22.5 x 15.5, of frame 45 x 37.
According to the handwritten notes on the back of the cardboard the portrait can be ascribed to the French courtier, poet, and portrait painter Nicolas Denisot (1515 - 1559).
Louise Labé, French writer, was considered to be a highly emancipated woman at her time, she was not only educated in many subjects, but had also had taken riding and fencing lessons. She gained wide acclaim with her "Oeveres de Louise Labé, Lyonaise", published in 1555, and is seen today as the most important representative of the Lyon School.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
