Relieffries im Wedgwood-Stil
7-tlg.; Kaffeekanne, Teekanne, Milchkännchen, Zuckerdose und 3 Kafeetassen mit Untertassen. Über glockenfömig aufgewölbtem Fuß Lanzettblattfries, ovoider Korpus mit eingezogener Schulter und auskragendem Rand. Seitliche Ohrenhenkel mit ansetzenden Palmetten. Röhrenfömiger Tierkopfausguß und Volutenhenkel. Passig eingelassene Deckel mit Eichelbekrönung. Oberhalb der Innenwandung florale Goldbordüre. Umlaufender Fries mit verschiedenen antikisierenden, szenischen und figürlichen Darstellungen. Darunter flankierende Frauen mit Lyra und Posaune aus der Apotheose des Vergil nach John Flaxman, Vestalinnen vor dem Opferaltar, Venus mit Delphinen und Göttin mit Füllhorn als Fruchtbarkeitssymbol sowie tanzende Horen. Feine, weiße Reliefauflagen aus Biskuitporzellan auf mattblauem Fond. Goldstaffage. Entw. Johann Daniel Schöne bzw. Johann Gottfried Dressler und Mitarbeiter, um 1817 - 1824. Teilw. minim. best. und mit kurzem Haarriss. Mind. eine Tasse 19. Jh.; Schwertermarke. Tassen-H. 9 cm. H. 15 cm - 25,5 cm.
John Flaxman (1755 - 1826), englischer Bildhauer und Illustrator wurde zur Leitfigur des wiederbelebenden Klassizismus. Wedgwood war führend in der Umsetzung dieser Entwürfe in Keramik. Die Meissener Manufaktur übernahm den Themenbereich sowie die technische Umsetzung einige Zeit später und gestaltete Dekore in der Art der klassizistischen Reliefauflagen aus antikisierenden Motiven auf Jasperware der englischen Manufaktur Wedgwood in Etruria.

A splendid Biedermeier porcelain part set with applied biscuit decor depicting mythological scenes in relief. Partly minor chipped and with short hairline crack. One cup later age. Crossed swords mark.
