Hans II. von Rost zu Aufhofen (1494 - 1577) wurde 1545 mit der Instandsetzung der verfallenen Kehlburg beauftragt und verwandelte diese im Zuge einer umfassenden und kostspieligen Restauration samt der erneuerten Ausstattung sowie Um- und Anbauten in ein prächtiges Renaissanceschloss. Die Kehlburg blieb bis ins frühe 19. Jhdt. im Besitz der Familie.

The commemorative inscription reading: "Disß gemält, hat lassen machen, der Edl, und vest, Hanß von Rost, zu Aufhoffn und Khelburg, so der herschafft uttenhaim 45 Jar aneinander Phleger gewest ist. Gott dem Almechtigen, zu Lob, und Eher, Ihm und seiner ganzen freuntschafft zu ainer Cristenlichen gedächtnis". Protruding and framed edges with four coats of arms on either side. Hardwood profile frame. Restored. The back with traces of old suspension chains and later rings. Dimensions 44 x 216 cm.
Hans II von Rost zu Aufhofen (1494-1577) was ordered to restore the decrepit Kehlburg. Due to a comprehensive and costly reconstruction which included new facilities, modernisations, and additions, he turned the fortress into a splendid Renaissance castle. The Kehlburg was owned by the family until the early 19th century.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
