A good copy in contemporary calf with the arms of Napoleon I Emperor of France of this first edition of the only text printed by Fargeon; son of a perfumer and profound connoisseur of the art of cosmetics, he was at the court of France and remained known as "the perfumer of Marie Antoinette".

8vo (198 x 125mm). Half-title (some browning and foxing, small paper flaw without loss on final leaf). Contemporary binding with the arms of Napoleon I, Emperor of France, red label on spine, decorated in gilt (some chips and light wear).
