Achtkantiger, in rund übergehender Lauf mit kräftig gestauchter Mündung. Glatte Seele im Kaliber 14 mm. Am Laufansatz gravierter Ornamentdekor. Schloss mit geschlossener Radabdeckung und Sicherungshebel. Gefederte Pfanne mit Auslöseknopf. Auf der Schlossgegenseite verschraubte Gürtelspange. Vollschäftung aus Nussbaumholz mit fein geschnitztem, erhabenem Band- und Rankendekor. Auf der Schlossgegenseite die Darstellung eines Vogels, auf dem Griffrücken ein Edelmann in zeitgenössischer Tracht. Knaufkappe mit Portraitkopf. Der Vorderschaft stellenweise leicht restauriert, Ausbruch im unteren Bereich. Originaler Ladestock mit eiserner Gewindehülse (restaurierte Bruchstelle). Länge 54,5 cm.

A German wheellock puffer with carved stock, probably Suhl, ca. 1580/90
Octagonal to round barrel with swamped muzzle. Smooth bore in cal. 14 mm. Ornamental engravings at the breech. The lock with covered wheel and a safety lever. Spring-loaded pan cover with button release. The side plate with a screw-mounted belt hook. Walnut fullstock with finely carved decorations, a bird near the sideplate, a nobleman in contemporary clothing on the handle. The pommel cap showing a portrait. Some minor restorations on the forend, a chip on the underside. Original ramrod with iron flute and a restored crack. Length 54.5 cm.
